A teenage girl was killed early today in another tragic car accident. The girl, a passenger, and her driver friend were returning from a night out in Canada when the friend fell asleep and the vehicle left the road, crashing into a concrete overpass. Teenagers frequently visit the bars in Canada where the legal drinking age is nineteen. Police have not disclosed whether the driver was legally intoxicated. In Michigan, the family of the girl who died can maintain a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the car, even if she was a family friend. The driver's insurance company would pay any settlement on the case.
