Seems like there have been a great number of hit and run accidents this summer in Detroit car accidents this summer. A 36-year-old Plymouth man suffered a severely broken leg and cuts after being struck by a blue minivan while trying to cross the eastbound Interstate 96 express lanes Monday evening. The man ran out of gas and was trying to cross the highway when he was struck. The minivan stopped for a moment and then sped away.

Many people have the misconception that a person injured by a hit and run driver have no legal rights. This is not true. Victims of hit and run accidents can often make uninsured motorists claims against their own auto insurance policies for their injuries and can always get No-Fault Insurance benefits to have their medical bills, lost wages, and other benefits paid during their period of recovery. Our firm regularly handles these cases and we have achieved excellent results for our clients.
