Detroit Michigan Motorcycle Crash Death

I have been blogging recently on the high number of Detroit, Michigan motorcycle accidents this summer. Most of them have been due to other motorists and truck drivers driving carelessly and injuring or killing a motorcyclist. Today a story appeared in the newspaper about 32 year old Harrison Township man who died after his motorcycle struck the rear of a car. Police estimate that the motorcyclist was traveling in excess of 100 mph.

While this accident apparently seems to be his fault, the surviving family members of the deceased biker may still be entitled to make certain claims under the Michigan No-Fault law. These benefits are available regardless of the fault of the injured person if the biker had proper insurance coverage. The laws regarding insurance benefits for motorcyclists are very technical and an analysis of the policy by an experienced lawyer is necessary. My firm handles a great number of these cases and we are familiar with the insurance laws as they apply to bikers.
