I read a news story today about a 77 year old woman who was killed last week in a Troy car accident. Apparently, another driver made an illegal left turn out of a parking lot, crashed into her vehicle, and forced her into oncoming traffic. Based upon reports, the other driver was negligent and caused the accident.

Under Michigan law, the family of the decedent can file a Michigan Wrongful Death claim against the other driver and owner of the other vehicle. The possible damages under the statute are prescribed by Michigan law. My firm handles a number of these cases throughout the entire State of Michigan.
