Over the last few months, there has been a great number of product recalls due to lead paint hazards. I have blogged about many of these products. Most of them are toys which pose the threat of child lead poisoning, a disease that causes permanent and irreversible brain damage to children.

Today, the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled 4,500 units of Eli's Small Drums and Liberty's Large Drums
which are imported by The Boyds Collection Ltd., of McSherrystown, Pa. The red paint on the drums contains high levels of lead. The toys were imported from China between June, 2005 to April, 2007 and sold nationwide. There have been no reported incidents of children suffering lead poisoning from the product.
