Lead in Recalled Toys

There have been a number of toy recalls in certain months due to lead paint being identified on toys. The recalled toys have primarily been manufactured in China. While it is clearly a good thing to pull these toys from the shelves at retail stores and from homes, these actions alone will only have a minimal affect on the problem of child lead poisoning. The primary source of lead poisoning is still chipping and peeling paint in older homes throughout the United States and biggest efforts should be made to eliminating those hazards.
