An $11.7 million verdict was awarded in a medical malpractice case to a young man whose 2003 back surgery caused him to become paralyzed. The plaintiff and his surgeon had reached an out-of-court settlement in January, but the surgeon decided to take his chances at trial. The jury found both the surgeon and a co-defendant involved in the surgery to be negligent. My firm has significant experience representing spinal cord injury patients in all types of trauma cases.
