Two Michiganders, a 91 year old man and a 56 year old woman, were mauled to death by a pack of bulldogs the other day in a Michigan dog attack case. Ten bulldogs were seized by Livingston County Animal Control officers after the deadly attacks in rural Iosoco Township. Funerals are being arranged for both victims.

Under Michigan law, the owners of the dogs are strictly liable for the deaths of the two people. The surviving family members can file a wrongful death lawsuit seeking money damages from the dogs' owners. My firm handles a significant number of dog attack cases throughout Michigan, but this is the first death case that I have heard of result directly from a dog attack.
