Chipotle Lead Poisoning in Kent Ohio

Portage County health personnel are investigating the cause of possible food poisoning that occurred at the Chipotle Mexican Grill in Kent, Ohio.  More than 180 peole have reported symptoms consistent with food poisoning after eating burritos at that restaurant, many of which were Kent State students.    Many of the students were treated and released after presenting to the hospital with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea.  These are all consistent with different strains of food poisoning. 

When we dine out at a restaurant, we put great trust in the restaurant owner complying with health department and industry standards to prepare and serve fresh food in a proper and sanitary way.  Unfortunately, there are often lapses in implementing these standards, either from obtaining and serving tainted food, sick employees serving food, or simply lapses in cleanliness at the restaurant. 

When customer become ill from food poisoning due to meals purchased at a restaurant, they do have legal rights and can file a civil lawsuit against the restaurant.  The food poisoning lawyers at my firm handle these cases throughout Michigan and Ohio and recently filed a case in Eaton County, Michigan on behalf of a man who suffered a severe illness at a large Italian chain restaurant in that city.   I suspect that my firm will be asked by sick customers to further investigate the Chipotle claim.
